Naigaga Resty is a 13-year-old girl from Omoolo village on Lingira Island. She lives with her mother, grandmother, and four cousins. In 2019, Resty’s father tragically died in an accident. Her mother, who was a potato vendor, faced many challenges after her husband’s death and eventually ran out of capital, making it difficult to support herself and the children. As a result, the children were often absent from school. In 2024, their home on Mubaale Island was destroyed by a storm, forcing them to move in with their grandmother in Omoolo. Resty now attends Foundation Christian Schools in her new community.
