Okello is an 8-year-old boy from Uganda with a quiet strength beyond his years. He lives with his elderly grandmother in Bukabaale Village. His mother passed away when he was just six months old, and shortly after, his father left him in his grandmother’s care and moved to Pallisa in eastern Uganda. Tragically, his father also passed away three years later, leaving Okello fully orphaned at a very young age.
Today, Okello’s grandmother struggles to provide for him and three other grandchildren under her care. With limited means and no stable source of income, feeding the children and meeting their basic needs is a daily challenge. Despite her love and determination, she couldn’t raise school fees for this term, and all the children remain at home, missing out on their education and the opportunities it could bring.
